What is Pixel War?
Pixel War is a free, multiplayer, real-time collaborative pixel-art game and an alternative to Reddit’s r/place. Players share one large 1920×1080 canvas and place colored pixels one at a time to build collective artwork that everyone sees update live.
Is Pixel War free?
Yes. Pixel War is completely free to play. You only need to create a free account to start placing pixels. Optional cosmetic extras exist but are never required to play.
How does Pixel War compare to r/place?
Like r/place, Pixel War is a shared canvas where many players place pixels together. Unlike r/place — which Reddit runs only during limited-time events — Pixel War is available permanently and adds features such as factions and teams, a persistent account with XP and badges, animated colors, and permanent pixel authorship history.
Can I create a faction or team?
Yes. You can create or join a faction to coordinate with other players, claim territory on the canvas and defend your artwork together as a team.
Is Pixel War available all year round?
Yes. Unlike event-based canvases, Pixel War runs continuously, 24/7, all year round. The shared canvas persists between sessions, so your creations stay on the board.
How many players can play at the same time?
Pixel War is a massively multiplayer canvas designed for large numbers of players painting on the same shared board in real time, with every pixel appearing instantly for everyone connected.
