What is Pixel War?
Pixel War is a free, multiplayer, real-time collaborative pixel-art game and an alternative to Reddit’s r/place. Everyone paints on one large shared 1920×1080 canvas, placing colored pixels one at a time to build collective artwork that updates live for every player.
It runs entirely in the browser, with no download required, and is completely free to play.
The project
Pixel War launched in August 2026 as an independent project, built to keep the collaborative-canvas experience popularized by r/place alive and available all year, with a community-driven feature set of its own.
How it works
Create a free account, pick a color and place a pixel on the shared canvas. Every pixel you place appears instantly for all connected players. Team up by creating or joining a faction, claim territory, and defend your creations against other teams.
What makes it different
- Permanently online — no limited-time events, the canvas runs 24/7 all year round.
- Factions and team territory battles.
- Persistent accounts with XP, levels and unlockable badges.
- Animated colors and cosmetic effects to personalize your pixels.
- Permanent pixel authorship — see who placed any pixel, forever.
- A free daily reward wheel — plus an optional Premium wheel.
